Heater fitted!

A frequent piece of advice I was offered when discussing plans to sail north was to invest in a heater, both for personal comfort and to keep kit nice and dry.

At some stage in the past Little Scarlet was fitted with a gas heater but it had not been serviceable for many years however it made sense to incorporate the existing ducting within the set-up for the new, replacement system.

After extensive internet searches it seemed that the Russian made Autoterm diesel-fed heaters were a very viable alternative to the more well-known (and expensive) Webasto and Eberspacher’s. The Autoterm dealers referred me to SubZero in Kent for fitting. The team from SubZero were great – they were at the boat on time and the fit was extremely straightforward, to the extent that within three hours of their arrival the interior of the boat felt like a sauna!
